We have no language switcher for the menu. We have language icons that can be added once wpml or polylang is installed and activated.

you can use best wmpl but also the free polylang should work

Hi Pascal,

If you are using WPML, they have a feature for that, you can get help from their support team.

If you are using Polylang, the free version doesn’t include permalink translation, as far as I know, they have a paid extension for that.

It is not a theme related issue.

Hi,

It must be related to the plugin. The theme has no extra code for the polylang plugin related to the fields. Did you try to change the flag inside the WordPress header, specify the language for example!?

I am using the PolyLang plugin with RT-Theme 20 and WP Bakery Page Builder. I am working in English and Hebrew.

I am having trouble with the Team element. I have 2 team members and each member has an English and a Hebrew version. (The English and Hebrew versions are logically connected.)

My problem is when I place English text in the English fields “Position” and “Short Info” on the English page. This same information then appears on the Hebrew page in those 2 fields. If I then place Hebrew text in those same 2 fields on the Hebrew page, the English page is now overwritten with the the Hebrew information. The display for both the English and Hebrew pages with therefore show the same text (either English or Hebrew, not both).

It appears as if there is only one set of memory locations that both languages are trying to use.

Can you help me fix this problem?

P.S. I maintain another site with English and Hebrew that uses the WPML plugin for the multiple languages, and I do not have this problem.

I have currently disabled all plugins except: elementor, polylang, BusilnessLounge|ExtensionsPlugin. The 3rd one is also necessary, without it “Portfolio” button disappears from WP Dashboard.

Tests with negative result:
– in Firefox (wihout plugins), cache emptied
– in MS Explorer x64 without extensions
– in a VritualBox I got a clean new install of Windows 7×64. Tested there on explorer and Firefox
– freshly downloaded up-to-date Ubuntu in VirtualBox, tested in Firefox
– smartphone with Android (original, no third party modifications), WiFi tuned off – to use a cellular internet connection provider, mobile Firefox
– … im out if ideas… but I’m inclined to exclude hardware/software issues on my end.

Maybe I am doing some greenhorn mistake, my exact steps are:
– click 1: PORTFOLIO in Wp dasboard
– click 2: “Add New”
– click 3: key typing the name “TEST5”
– click 4: in edit area some dummy Lorem Ipsum
– Click 5: On the right sidebar, I assign Portfolio Category: “Seminar”
– Click 6: “Opublikuj” (Publish) button
– click 7: Blue Button “Edit in Elementor”
… am I missing something? You told me to try with PL translations, but It doesn’t seem to matter.

I recall just before the problem occurred first time, I had deleted some portfolio categories, which may’d been used in some DEMO portfolios. Is that relevant?

I’ve tested with the latest Polylang/Elementor/BusinessLounge and it works fine on my end. But yours returns the the_content warning which doesn’t make sense to me because we have the_content function in the portfolio template file. Can you please try again by turning off all plugins except Polylang/Elementor/BusinessLounge to see if there is another plugin that conflicts. Please let me know.

Next questions, also regarding a portfolio item:

1) Once again the element mentioned above:
(on a given specific portfolio page, on the very bottom, but just above header, there’s a thin section with two text links: 1) back to previous portfolio 2) “ALL PROJECTS”.)
QUESTION: is it possible to customize the colors? If not, then so be it, but it would be nice.

A serious one:
2) Having the specific portolio page finished in english (EN), i need to translate it (Polylang, free) into polish version (PL). I am bumping into infamous Elementor error: “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page, call “the_content” function, etc.
I searched this support forum, but none of existing threads seems to be relevant in my scenario.
To retrace my steps, click by click:
– Having EN portfolio, i added new PL translation (“+” Polylang button)
– PL page is created but the Portfolio options are not copied, but they are set to default. Manually I set them correctly (ie: Single Page Layout, Top Bar, Header, etc, etc)
– after that I test the PL version, it looks OK and opens in Elementor
– EN version, unedited, untouched, can be viewed, but the Elementor will not open (“..content area was not found..)

At this point I made a full backup using the UpfraftPlus plugin onto Dropbox.

I also tried this steps:
– unlink PL and EN version (in polulang, deleted the name of page)
– rename broken EN version into something diferent
– DUPLICATE the PL version by plugin “Duplicate Page and Post” by Arjun Thakbur.
– the PL version opens in Elementor, but the duplicate DOES NOT.

How can I translate a portfolio with Polylang, then?
