Hi Neo, thanks for your quick and clear answer! I removed every line that came up with every following error until no more errors appeared anymore. I did a quick test of a page in different languages and it is showing, so it seems to work now!

Change every function in the rttheme16/rt-framework/functions/wpml_function.php and add a check if polylang is active.

f.e. the first function change from this

RT16 does not support polylang. It seems Polylang is using the same functionnames as the wpml. RT16 has wpml code all through the theme to support that plugin.

It is caused by polylang because poly lang creates many functions with the same names as wpml to be “compatible” But we use these functions names to check witin the theme if wpml is running.

this is what polylang does.

Because polylang created these functions rt16 thinks wpml is running. I checked their code and they create every function of wpml we use to check if wpml is active.

You can try to open our rttheme16/rt-framework/functions/wpml_function.php and remove every function from that file that is creating a issue and see if that resolves your issue.

I actually believe this is a stupid way of polylang to build in wpml compatibility this way. They should have used not the same function names another plugin is using.

Please ask the plugin developer for support on that. We only support wpml.

You can try to modify the wpml_functions.php as apparently the polylang is using the same coding. Which is ackward as we check if a certain wpml function exists.

I just renamed the old rttheme15 theme directory to old and dit a fresh upload to a new “rttheme15” directory.

Now almost every page presents the folowing error.

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_default_language() on a non-object in /home/blendedc/public_html/wp-content/themes/rttheme15/rt-framework/functions/wpml_functions.php on line 24

But when I disable the Polylang (1.5) plugin (for multi languages) everything workes fine! even the sliders…

unfortunately i do need the polylang plugin…….

Hi,

I encountered 404 errors on all the first level pages when I switch to this theme. If I change permalink setting to default then everything is OK. But when I set it back to “post name” then all the first level pages/posts 404 error. Children pages are OK.

I also find that if I disable polylang plugin, the 404 errors disappear. What could be the possible reason of causing this ? Can you give me some hint on how to debug this issue ?

Hi

the theme is not 100% wpml compatible. I am using wpml + the string translation plugin add on plus widget logic plugin addon

however i still had to recode part of the theme to make it work with the portfolio and products. And maybe (i am not aware of) there are some more issue as the theme was not designed to fully support dual or more languages.

i can do so for you but that will not be free support and falls into the paid category.

but first off all you need to buy wpml for $78.

i have not tested any free plugin like polylang on this theme.

i mean no code to support the custom coding boxes, banners ( in the template builder), custom post types.

I dont know how polylang works. I can not answer your questions on that. The theme supports wpml and those questions we can answer.

You will probably have to use another contactform plugin to get your contactform working. But then again i dont know polylang.
